Wildcats claim 1st at Big Blue Invitational
The Wildcats and Lady Wildcats of Kemper County High School had a successful meet at the 2022 Big Blue Invitational at Meridian High School’s Ray Stadium last week, with the KCHS boys coming out as meet champions.
The boys 4x200 relay team of Jamari Scott, Alex Roberts, Ezekiel Smooth, and Tyler Grace won the gold medal. Taking individual gold medals for the Wildcats were Jamari Scott in the 200 meters and Sha’kenye Darden in the 800 meters.
The 4x100 really team of Scott, Roberts, Cam Butler and Grace took second, while Roberts was second in the 200 meters. Semaj Ray, Smoot, William Brown, and Marquez Patty took third in the 4x400 relay, while Toddrick Rush was third in the 300 meter hurdles and Smooth took second in the 400 meter dash.
Sha’kanye Darden was second in the 800 meters, while Anthony Reed was second in the 3,200 meters.
On the girls side of things Kaylan Clayton had a strong meet, finishing second in the 200 meter and 200 meter dashes as well as being part of two relay teams that came away with gold metals.
Jashunti Bourrage won the 400 meters, while teammate Zariyah Moss was second.
The 4x200 really team of Clayton, Moss, Quintayjah Reed, and outrage won first, as did the 4x400 relay team of Precious Stone, Bourrage, Moss and Clayton.
