Trick-orTreating set for Saturday

Both the Town of DeKalb and the Town of Scooba are encouraging its residents to celebrate the Trick-or-Treating portion of Halloween this Saturday, instead of Oct. 31, which is Sunday. It is also encouraged that all activities be completed by nightfall due to safety concerns.

“We just want everybody to be safe,” said DeKalb Mayor Clark Adams when explaining the thought process of the decision at a board meeting earlier this month.

Scooba Mayor Crag Naive hopes that his citizens will attend a Trunk-or-Treat that will be set up on the road bordering the railroad tracks in downtown Scooba.

“Everybody is welcome,” Nave said. “We just wanted to provide a safe environment.”
