Rams set to host Nanih Waiya Thursday

Both Kemper Academy basketball teams took tough losses this past week.

Last Friday, the Rams and Lady Rams played Columbus Christian. The Lady Rams lost 45-28. Avery Luke and Braylee Johnson each scored eight points, while Tori Stennis led with five re­bounds. The boys team lost 58-46. Kix Wilson put on a great performance with 24 points along with eight rebounds and three assists. Jay McWilliams and Zane Knight had huge games on the boards as Knight had 10 rebounds, and McWilliams had eight.

Coach Betty Lynn Hag­gard says she hopes the nerves will subside after a few games.

On Monday, the Rams traveled to Enterprise. The Lady Rams lost 55-19. Sydnee Wilson and Braylee Johnson each had seven points, with Wilson grabbing five rebounds. The boys lost a heart­breaker to Enterprise, 68-64. Kix Wilson had another great perform­ance scoring 28 points, with four rebounds. Zane Knight had a great per­formance also with 15 points and six rebounds. Eli Weaver scored 16 points to go along with seven rebounds.

Coach Haggard had a lot to say about her team's hard work includ­ing Kix Wilsons drive and determination which she says is like no other she has seen at KA.

This week, the Rams will host Nanih Waiya on Thursday, before hosting Hebron on Tuesday.
