Motorcycle accident results in one fatality

A one-vehicle motorcycle accident this past Sunday, on Hwy. 14 just a short dis­tance south of the Scooba exit, resulted in the death of 32-year-old Robert Yepez, of Meridian. The ac­cident occurred at approx­imately 1:30 p.m., when Yepez's Honda motorcycle struck a guardrail.

Scooba Volunteer Fire Dept. responded to the scene along with Patient­Care EMS, and the Missis­sippi Highway Patrol. Yepez was declared de­ceased at the scene by Pa­tientCare paramedics. The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the acci­dent.
