Kemper Crossing water/sewer project drawing nearer

Posted

Ike Kiefer of the Kemper County Economic Develop- ment Authority told the Kemper County Board of Supervisors during its regularly scheduled board meeting on Monday morning that contracts to con- nect the Kemper Crossing industrial park to the Town of DeKalb sewer and water system could be awarded as early as January of 2022.

Kiefer said it was hoped the advertisements for the bids could be advertised as early as this week with bid openings taking place sometime in late Novem- ber. That would give Wag- onner Engineering time to evaluate the bids and per- haps make a recommenda- tion to the board of supervisors by January.

Kiefer said it was a little more than a mile between the park located to the West of DeKalb at the in- tersection of Hwy 16 and Hwy 393 and where the town water line now ends.
