Kemper Academy holds graduation ceremonies

Kemper Academy’s class of 2021 graduated during ceremonies Friday night at the football stadium.

Sarah Martina and Dylan Williamson were co-Valedictorians while Dalton McFarland was the Salutatorian.

As always, coach Chris Gully spoke about each of the graduates, recalling when each started at Kemper Academy while sharing some of their stories.

Members of Kemper Academy’s graduating class of 2021 were Dylan Williamson, class president, Cash Wilson, vice president, Adriana Hall, secretary, Sarah Martin, treasurer, Dalton McFarland, reporter, Peyton Dawkins, Dylan Dawson, Zach Ferrell, Sara Gaylord, Jordan Gully, Katlynn Holley, Samantha Knight, Brintelzya Lowe and Candace Pitts.

After the graduates received their diplomas, the lights were turned off. The graduates stood on one side of the field while the incoming senior class of 2022 stood on the other side. One by one, the graduate and incoming senior would walk across the field. When they met in the middle, the graduate lighted a candle held by the senior and blew his/her candle out. When all had switched sides, the lights came back on and the senior class of 2022 was introduced.
