The Kemper County High School gymnasium was the scene of the PACES Pep Rally for the Class of 2022. The pep rally was for seniors only and about 80 students were expected to participate in the event where they would receive an overview of PACES requirements, and visits to college campuses and businesses.

PACES Project Coordinator, Bernard Hulin, said that PACES is in its thirteenth year, and usually about one-third of the senior class chooses to apply.

This year's guest speaker was Trenton Steele, a 2012 KCHS graduate who spoke to the seniors about the importance of education and where education can lead.

Hulin pointed out that PACES is an all volunteer organization, involving parents, business professionals, and economic development professionals. PACES partners with over 50 business organizations, and will award six scholarships totaling $5K.
