Johnson, Wilson spark KA to sweep

The Kemper Academy Rams had a huge week in basketball this week with both teams earning powerful wins over Hebron.

The Lady Rams won by a score of 53-38. Braylee Johnson put up an impressive stat-line scoring 20 points and adding eight boards and five assists to the mix. Sydney Wilson also put up impressive numbers with a 13 point and 18 rebound double-double.

Coach Betty Lynn Haggard said she saw great team play. “The results speak for themselves”, said Haggard.

The Rams also earned an impressive win over Hebron by a score of 68-34.

Kix Wilson torched the Hebron defense scoring 37 points and adding 10 boards to secure the double-double. Zane Knight also played well, scoring 12 with nine rebounds. Eli Weaver also added eight points. Haggard said the team switched to some more aggressive defenses and that the results are showing.

The Rams matchup for later in the week against Nanih Waiya has been cancelled and the Rams will resume play on Jan 4. With a trip to Columbus Christian.

KA played Enterprise on Monday. Those results will be in next week’s paper.
