CENTER RIDGE CEMETERY MEETING
Center Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery Association in Kemper County, will hold its annual meeting this year on Homecoming Day, May 1, 2022, after the noon day meal. Families and friends who have loved ones buried in the cemetery are invited to attend and to help with the maintenance and up-keep of the cemetery. Donations may also be mailed to Center Ridge Cemetery Association, 7246 Hwy 39 S, DeKalb, MS 39328.

EMCC OFFERS TUITION-FREE CODING CLASSES
Mississippi Coding Academies is providing tuition-free classes to students at The Communiversity at East Mississippi Community College. FUNDRAISER FOR RAY LUKE
The Preston Fire Department is holding a gun raffle to raise money for former Kemper County Fire Coordinator Ray Luke who suffered a significant injury in a fall in March. Tickets for the rifle are $5 each or five tickets for $20. The drawing will be May 2 and you don’t have to present to win. SALEM BAPTIST CHURCH HOMECOMING
Homecoming is set for May 1 at Salem Baptist Church (Kellis’ Store) in the Preston community. Service begins at 10:45 a.m. with “Answered Prayer” being featured. There will be a potluck dinner. Bro. Russell Lee is pastor.
COALITION FOR A HEALTHY KEMPER COUNTY
The Coalition for a Healthy Kemper County was organized to provide educational outreach. The goal is to bring educational awareness of health issues and unhealthy lifestyles that accompany diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, etc. If you are interested in helping the mission, contact Malikah Jones at the Extension office at 601-743-2837 for more information.
MICKEY MOUSE PHOTOS
Children can have their photos taken with Mickey Mouse on Saturday, May 7 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.. The event is set to take place 160 Hopper Avenue in Dekalb,. It is across from The Commercial Bank. There will also be snowballs. Venders are welcome. The vent is sponsored by Community First KC and Reds and Sons Detail.

BEAVER CONTROL COST-SHARE PROGRAM
Applications are being accepted by Kemper County SWCD for the Kemper County Beaver Control Cost-Share Program. The Mississippi Soil and Water Conservation Commission and the Kemper County Board of Supervisors have funded the program to aid non-industrial private landowners in beaver control.
