Career and technical students help clean up


A Campus Clean Up Day at John C. Stennis Career & Technical Center. Career and technical students at John C. Stennis career and technical center hosted a campus cleanup day on May 4.

Students in the Educa­tor’s Rising, Skills USA, and Future Farmers of America (FFA) student organizations participated in this commu­nity service project on CTE’s school campus.

In other news the John C. Stennis Career and Techni­cal Center recognized a few students for their hard work and dedication at CTE. Here are April’s Stu­dents of the Month:

  • Keondrey Williams – (Law & Public Safety)
  • Semaj Friloux – (Work-Based Learning)
  • Sha’Kanye Darden – (Construction)
  • Keneric Delk – (Welding)
  • Kamyra Brown – (Early Childhood)
  • Jimarion Peeples – (Forestry)

Each year students in cer­tain CTE program areas have the opportunity to earn national certification in their CTE program of study. This year, students enrolled in Welding, Con­struction, Early Childhood, and Healthcare & Clinical Services completed specific assessments for program area certification. We re proud to recognize our stu­dents that earned national certification this year.

Congratulations to each student who earned na­tional certification.

The following students completed the NCCER as­sessment in and earned na­tional certification in welding:

— Year 1 Program: Shamarius Coleman, Jushanti Jenkins, Aidan Burrage, Kyla Grace, Maliek Cole, Toddrick Rush, Jr., Jacorey Roberts, and Jace Gilbert.

— Year 2 Program: Ricky Little, Jamari Scott, Zavion Hill, Jaquan Geeter, Kyler Welch, Aaron Steele, Ken­teric Delk, Jaquorious Jack­son, Devin Bourrage, Jakylan Bourrage, Benquez Winston, Tyzavier Williams, and Ethan Clark.

The following students completed the NCCER as­sessment in and earned na­tional certification in Construction:

— Year 1 Program: Javon Gibbs, Sha’Kanye Darden, J’Quon’Tarius Russell, Ja­heim Holliday, Jacorey Collins, Omarion Burton, Dillon Little, and Kenyan Jones.

The following students completed the Pre-PAC as­sessment in and earned na­tional certification in Early Childhood Education:

— Year 2 Program: Trinity Bester, Andrewnetta Adams, Kamyra Brown, An­gelique Dailey, Tiliayah Houston, Aariea Jenkins, Zariyah Moss, Tanasia Mar­tin, and Ka’terika Powe.

The following students completed the Precisions assessment in and earned national certification in Health Science:

— Year 2 Program: Ty’A­sia Bohannon, Brekaylah Grace, Shakerri Broach, Kaja Simonds, Shaniah Vickers, and Dere’Auna Williams.
