Wilson looking forward to all-star game

 Kemper Academy’s Cash Wilson will play his final high school basketball game Thursday when he competes in the Mid-South Independent Schools Association’s Class 1A-2A all-star game.

The game will be played at Jackson Prep. Wilson said the all-stars will report Wednesday for practice.

“I’m looking forward to it,” Wilson said. “I have been to this game before. Three of my cousins, Hunter Hall, Haley Hall and Chase Cawthorn have played in this game and I went to watch them play.”

Wilson has attended Kemper Academy from kindergarten until now. He started playing basketball in the fourth grade and it became his favorite sport.

“I focused on basketball,” said Wilson who started at the shooting guard position for the Rams this summer. “I have practiced a lot and worked on my shooting.

“But this is my senior year. School went by so fast; I can’t believe the season is over. We went 8-8 this year but we had 10 games canceled because of the COVID, I guess we are lucky we had a season.”

Wilson lists as his favorites:

•Favorite dinner: crawfish;

-Favorite video game: NBA2K;

•Favorite movie: Remember the Titans; and,

•Favorite subject: Environmental Science.

In his free time, Wilson likes to fish and hunt, He also likes to video tape hunting trips.

He plans to attend East Mississippi Community College in the fall. When he finishes at EMCC, he plans to attend Mississippi State University. He plans to major in Forestry.

He is the son of Buck and Louellen Wilson.
