I hope you have all been practicing social distancing.

It is truly important for us to do this so we can stay healthy. Now is a good time to increase your skills to provide for your healthy life style. Missing the gym, Google exercises and start a routine at home. Enjoy fresh produce by starting a garden of your favorite vegetables.

Begin those projects around the house you've been putting off. Clean out those closets.

Organize your bookshelves. Deep clean your kitchen cabinets. Out a fresh coat of paint in the rooms in your house that need it.

Like to cook? Try some healthy alternatives. Use the internet to gather new and interesting healthy recipes. One site to try is yummly.com. You can type is low carb whatever you want and will receive an abundance of reviews you can try.

Another site is delish.com. Look at keto and takin are some key words you can use too. Just remember that planning and moderation are key things to live a healthy lifestyle.

SUGAR FREE OATMEAL COOKIES

1 c. whole wheat flour

1 c. oatmeal

1 tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1/4 tsp. nutmeg

1/4 tsp. allspice

1/4 tsp. ground cloves

1/2 c. raisins

1 c. unsweetened applesauce

1/4 c. water

1/3 c. vegetable oil

2 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

1/4 c. nuts (chopped fine)



Combine all ingredients in mixing bowl. Mix well. Drop by teaspoonful onto lightly oiled baking sheet.

Bake at 375°F for 10 to 15 minutes or until browned.

SUGAR FREE PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES

1/2 c. butter

1/2 c. natural peanut butter

1 egg, slightly beaten

1/3 c. sugar-free maple syrup

1 tsp. vanilla

1 tbsp. liquid sweetener

1 2/3 c. flour

1/2 tsp. baking powder

Mix dry ingredients, mix all others in order listed. Combine all ingredients. Roll one teaspoonful of dough into a ball, place on greased cookie sheet, flatten with a fork dipped in flour. Continue until all dough is used. Bake in 350 degree oven for 8-10 minutes. Do not overbake.

SUGAR FREE COOKIES

1 c. flour

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1 1/2 c. quick oatmeal

1/2 to 3/4 c. Splenda

1 tsp. vanilla

1 c. raisins

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 tsp. nutmeg

2 egg whites, slightly beaten

1/2 c. skim milk

1/3 c. oil

1/2 c. nuts

Sift dry ingredients all but oats. Add oats. Add rest of ingredients, mix. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes.

SUGAR-FREE BANANA CAKE

2/3 c. banana, mashed

1/2 c. butter, softened

3 lg. eggs

3/4 c. water

1 tsp. vanilla or 1 tbsp. rum

2 c. unbleached flour

2 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. cinnamon

1 c. chopped walnuts -or-

1/2 c. chopped walnuts and 1/2 c. raisins

Grease and flour a 9 x 13 inch pan. Beat together mashed banana and soft butter until creamy. Beat in water and vanilla stirred together. In a separate bowl, beat eggs until very foamy. Beat into mixture. Blend in flour, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon. Beat until smooth. Stir in walnuts or walnuts and raisins, if desired. Spread batter evenly in pan. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes or until a knife inserted comes out clean. Cool.
