Braden Smith, son of Rob and Lori Smith of Meridian and grandson of Robert and M. Smith of Dekalb, is a member of BSA Troop 70 and has just completed the requirements for Eagle Scout.

Smith is 16 years old and is a Junior at Northeast High School. His ambition is to be the best he can be for God and his country. His life purpose is to serve in whatever capacity God has for him. The most important things in his life are his family, his church, his school and scouting.

Smith is a member of Northcrest Baptist Church where he operates the light and sound system for the Youth Praise Team. He is President of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Northeast High School. He is the center on the football team. In the summers he has served as a team leader in Love Out Loud, a program sponsored by his church that assists with community projects.

Smith is an eight-year Superior Bible Drill winner and plans to participate again this year. Recently He was recognized as a first place winner in Entrepreneurship in the DECA Competition at East Central Community College.

Smith says he is grateful to the scouting program for the many opportunities it has made possible for him.

His father, Rob and his big brother, Tyler are also Eagle Scouts.
