Scooba Mayor Craig Nave Sr. is hop- ing his community is crawling with goblins, superheroes, cartoon characters, and the like on the night before Halloween.

The town of Scooba is hosting a “Trunk Or Treat” on Saturday, Oct. 30 from 5-7 p.m. with cars lining up along Railroad Street in the community’s downtown area.

“We just thought it would be a good way to get everyone together and have a good time post-COVID,” Nave said. “We have gotten a good response form the community as well as local businesses who are planning to participate.”

Nave said he would love to have be- tween 20 to 30 cars on site with their

trunks full of goodies.
“It is open countywide,” he said. “We want to get the word out to everyone.” Nave noted that both the towns of Scooba and DeKalb had encouraged their residents to do their trick or treat- ing on Oct. 30 this year.

Those interested in participating in the event or who may have questions are asked to contact Nave at 601-527-8700.
