Republican Primary set For June 7

The Republican Primary for the Third Congressional District seat in the United States House of Representatives will be held on June 7. There will be no Democratic Primary.

Polls in Kemper County open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and all registered voters are eligible to vote in the primary.

Incumbent Michael Guest, who has served since 2018, is being challenged by Michael Cassidy and Thomas Griffin. A run-off, if necessary, will be held on June 28.

The primary winner will face Democrat Shuwaski Young in the November General election. The 3rd District includes much of east and central Mississippi including Kemper County.
