The Kemper Academy Rams open their 2020 eight-man football season on the road Friday night when they visit Wilkinson County Academy.

“We are getting prepared,” Coach LaQuintis Horne said. “We don’t know that much about them. We have looked at the film from last year’s game.”

In the season opener last year, Wilkinson won 40-12.

Wilkinson Academy went 9-3 last season while Kemper Academy finished with a 5-7 record.

The Rams finished second in their district and made it to the second round of the Class AA before being eliminated by Manchester. Wilkinson was eliminated in the first round of the Class A playoffs by Prairie View.

“We have had good practices and I think we are ready to play,” Coach Horne said.

Dalton McFarland will start at quarterback. Zack Ferrell is the running back while Colton Kynard, Lander Dixon and Dylan Williamson will all play wide receiver. Brody Barefield will start at center. He is flanked by guards Eli Weaver and Peyton Scott.
