Rams in must-win situation

The Kemper Academy baseball team was looking to win two games on the road Wednesday in the state Mid-South Independent Schools Association baseball playoffs.

The Rams are battling Tunica Academy in the second round of the playoffs. They defeated Lee Academy of Arkansas in two games in the first round, 15-2 and 9-2

The Rams have a record of 11-7. They lost the first game of the series to Tunica 11-7 in a game that was played Monday in the DeKalb.

James Knight started at pitcher. He went 3-for-4 with a double and two singles and had one RBI.

“Even though today didn’t go our way, this team showed a lot about their character,” said Coach Colt Kilpatrick. “There is not an ounce of quit in them! No matter how the game was going, they got up, got loud, and continued to compete.

“Nothing good in life happens without adversity fellas!! It’s time to answer the call, get to work, and show them why Kemper Baseball is a force to be reckoned with.”
