Rams even record at 1-1 with 52-12 win

The Kemper Academy Rams rebounded from their season opening loss to roll over Discovery Christian School 52-12 in eight-man football action.

The Rams, now 1-1 on the season, will be back home Friday night when they host Christian Collegiate.

Quarterback Eli Weaver accounted for five touchdowns. He rushed for 125 yards and passed for 156 yards.

Those scoring touchdowns included Eli Miles with two touchdowns and Thomas Mattox, Buddy Weaver, Colton Kenerd and Buddy West with one apiece. Beau Gully scored on a two-point conversion.

Miles was a top tackler with six stops. Eli Weaver had nine tackles, three assists and a sack.

“Discovery was more our size,” said KA coach Michael Dawkins. “We matched up better. Our defense held up well the whole night. We made things happen on offense. The line blocked well.”
