Lady Wildcats take three key hoops wins

The Lady Wildcats of Kemper County High School earned three huge basketball wins this past week. 

The first win was over South- east Lauderdale, where they crushed the Lady Tigers 60-36. 

Neera Bell scored her season high 22 points to lead the game for the Lady Wildcats. Robynn Jennings helped out with nine points, with Kaylan Clayton scor- ing eight. 

After Thanksgiving Break, the Lady Wildcats were right back to winning, defeating Northeast Lauderdale 45-39. Bell once again led scoring, this time with 18 points. Jennings once again scored nine and Seraiah Little added eight. The Lady Wildcats would then play the Louisville Lady Wildcats who they de- feated 53-45 earlier in the sea- son. This time the Kemper County Lady Wildcats would once again come out on top, winning 62-60 in a nail biter. 

Jennings led with 15 points, Bell close behind with 13. Zariyah Moss scored 12 with Clayton adding eight. Coach Ronnie Slaughter said he feels like his team is coming together 

“We are heading in the right direction,” Slaughter said. Slaughter says that if one player is playing well that the team starts to build around them to win. 

The KCHS boys took a 50-40 

win over Louisville, while falling to Northeast Lauderdale 68-56. 

Bourrage scored 13 to lead the Wildcats against Louisville, while Lebrun Johnson had 10. 

Johnson scored 12 against NEL, while Butler had 10 and Jamar Grace scored 10.
