Lady Rams finish second in district tourney

The Kemper Academy Lady Rams finished second in the division this week after dropping a 47-37 contest with Newton County Academy.

KA had a tough second half after trailing by only two at the half. The youngsters for the Lady Rams showed up in the championship game as freshman Jeanna Dudley led the Lady Rams with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Faith Wilson also played well handling the ball for the Lady Rams. Shadow Goodrich scored seven points and Sydney Wil­son was able to grab 10 rebounds.

The Rams finished third in the divi­sion after falling in the first round to NCA,46-36. However the Rams were able to defeat Calhoun for third place, 61-50.

Kix Wilson once again put on an excellent performance with 34 points and five rebounds. Colton Kynerd scored 11 points with six re­bounds and Eli Weaver recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards. The Rams season came to an end on Monday night, as the Rams lost to North Sunflower. The Lady Rams faced Tunica Academy last night (Wednesday), however the game was played after the press deadline for this week.

Two Rams and three Lady Rams were selected to the all district team.Those players were Eli Weaver, Kix Wilson, Shadow Goodrich, Jeanna Dudley, and Sydney Wilson.
