KIPLING NEWS/God is always faithful

Posted

"Our Help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth." Psalm 124:8.

No matter how uncertain things may seem, God is always faithful. He does not always supply our wants, but He is faithful to supply our needs.

It is that time of the week, to write the Kipling News for its weekly publication. The problem is, I really don't know what to write. Never in my long life have I seen anything or been aware of anything like what is happening in our world today. It is a time when people are confined at home, most of us are not going anywhere, all because of the so called Covid-19 virus that is so rampant in most of the world today. Life as we have known it all these years, is now at a standstill.

Sorry to hear of the recent death of Marvin Keeton. He and his wife Eleanor lived for many years in the Oak Grove community, where they had many devoted friends and neighbors. They were faithful members of the Union Methodist Church. Even after moving to Murphysboro, Tenn. to be near their son William and family, they would always come back each summer to attend the Union Homecoming and Revival. He was truly a good man. His many friends are saddened by his death.

He is survived by his wife Eleanor, a son William "Bill" Keeton, wife Lisa, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A memorial and burial service for Mr. Keeton will be held in the near future at the Union Methodist church cemetery.

I hope as we go through this very difficult time, we will truly pray for the leaders of our nation, that they will make the right decisions and stand up for what is right and not for political gain.

I heard one of my neighbors say that she hated what was going on in our world right now, but she said, "I'm enjoying staying home and not having to watch the clock for fear of missing an appointment." Everyone around here seems to want to help each other and that certainly is good. We miss our church services. None of the churches around here are holding public services. Most pastors are finding ways to present God's message to the church members.

The pastor of the church I attend, each Sunday morning goes to the church and along with his wife records his sermon and then sends each member a tape of the weekly church message. Most pastors are finding ways to convey God's message to the church congregation. This is very good. We have enjoyed several weeks of warm springtime temperatures but as I write this, it is beginning to get a bit cooler.

Have a good week, as good as you can and thanks for reading the Kipling News.
