Kemper Crossing sewer/water project ahead of schedule

Posted

Ike Kiefer of the Kemper County Economic Development Authority told the Kemper County Board of Supervisors during their regular first Monday meeting that Greenbriar Construction was way ahead of schedule on the project to install water and sewer lines from the Town of DeKalb to the Kemper Crossing Industrial Park located at the intersection of Hwy 16 and Hwy 397 just west of town.

Kiefer said work clearing the right-of-ways was nearly done and that the water lines had begun to make their way form the town to the park on the South side of Hwy 16, while at the same time putting in the sewer line on the North side of the highway, starting at Kemper Crossing and moving toward town.

While Greenbriar has 180 days to complete the project, Kiefer said at this rate they may be done in 60.
