The Kemper County School District's Board of Education met at the last board meeting to honor six exemplary students from John C. Stennis CTE who earned ACT WorkKeys platinum certifications following state-wide testing last month.

Kemper County students who received the platinum certifications are Angelique Dailey, Javon Gibbs, Lashanti Harrington, Aareia Jenkins, Alfred Love, and Adrianna McGraw.

The ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate (ACT NCRC) is a job skills assessment that provides employers with information they believe are critical to job success. Students who earn the ACT NCRC have an advantage when applying for industry type jobs because it shows proof of job skills via the certification.

“The results of these assessments should not be taken lightly," said Hilute Hudson, Superintendent of Kemper County School District. "These are clear indicators that our students are college and career ready.”

ACT WorkKeys awarded 60 students overall from Kemper County School District with platinum, gold, silver and bronze certificates.

Gold certification recipients are: Ty’Quavian Anderson, Kamyra Brown, Sha’Kanye Darden, Ja’Quan Geeter, Reslyn Ramsey, and Kaja Simonds.

Silver certification recipients include; Damiyah Bester, Trinity Bester, Devin Bourrage, Brekaylah Grace, Jamar Grace, JaMiya Grace, Kaylah Hearn, Donquavian Hickman, Tasharra Johnson, Manasia Odom, Quintayjah Reed, Aaron Steele, Precious Stone, Kamri Tate, and Ty’Zavier Williams.

“I am overwhelmingly pleased to see that our students performed well on these assessments and the amount of preparation that was provided to help them be successful,” said Hudson.

John C. Stennis CTE plans to host an awards ceremony at the end of the school year to honor all student achievements from its programs.
