Kemper County native LaWanda Shields is help leading the charge in higher education.

The Kemper County Middle School 7th grade English teacher was recently selected to be a guest speaker at the Alabama/Mississippi ACT conference.

The conference was original scheduled for November 2020, but due to the pandemic, it was changed to a virtual conference to be held the week of February 17-19 virtually.

Due to ice storm and power outages, Ms. Shields did not get to present live. However, she was able to complete a recorded version of her presentation.
