The Kemper Academy basketball teams have advanced to the Mid-South Independent Schools Association Class 1A-2A North State tournament.
The games will be played at Columbus Christian. The KA boys entered the tournament with an 8-8 record. The Rams finished third in the district. They will play Rossfield Academy Wednesday at 5:15 p.m.
The Lady Rams of Kemper Academy finished with a 3-13 record but came close in several games. They take on Tunica Academy Wednesday at 4 p.m.
“Both teams made progress this year,” Coach Betty Lynn Haggard said. “The girls played close in several games but just couldn’t pull it out. Last year, they just won one game. This year, they won three.”
“The boys figured out how to win and were very competitive. I think we made progress.”
