KCLE has 128 students achieve perfect attendance

Posted

Over the past two years, attendance has been a struggle at Kemper County Lower Elementary. The pandemic has been scary for parents and students. Now that more people are vaccinated, the number of cases have declined and students are needed in school.

A lot of instructional time has been missed over the past two years that is vital for the youngest students that are building their educational foundation. On September 13 KCLE started a Perfect Attendance Challenge campaign complete with incentives and a grand prize drawing for a bicycle sponsored by Superintendent Hilute Hud- son.

KCLE had 128 out of 257 students from Pre-Kindergarten through third grade

that had perfect attendance during the first nine weeks of school. Those names were placed in a box for a drawing and Charleigh Ables, a first grader at KCLE, was the lucky winner of a brand new bicycle. All students meeting the attendance eligibility received an out of uniform pass and candy as incentives to continue to be in school every day.

Joycelyn Robertson, the

Kemper County Tax Assessor and Collector, has agreed to sponsor the second Nine Weeks. Students need to get excited and at- tend school daily to have a chance to win our next grand prize. Anyone that would like to sponsor the Perfect Attendance Challenge or other campaigns like our Top Reader and Math Clubs would be greatly appreciated.
