KCHS baseball drops pair
The Kemper County High School baseball team lost a pair of district baseball games to a strong Choctaw County team last week.
The Wildcats fell to the Chargers 17-2 in the first game and 17-0 in the second one.
Kemper County jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opener, only to have CCHS take the lead with a three-run first. The Chargers then added 11 in the second and three in the third to win by the run-rule.
B.J. Jackson smacked a double for the Wildcats, while Kaleb Jackson, Dicenzo Miller, Jakylan Bourrage, Ricky Little, and Izaiah Bourrage each had singles.
Miller stole a base for KCHS, while Jakylan Bourrage had an RBI.
The Chargers scored 17 runs in the bottom of the first inning to take the shutout win in the nightcap.
Kaleb Ball, Kendetryon Backstrom, and Miller had hits for KCHS in the second game.
The Kemper County baseball team was scheduled to play East Webster this week.
