KA ready to get back to basketball court

The Kemper Academy Rams will return to basketball action on Friday as they will face Newton County Academy at home. The Rams went into the break with a 4-7 record and the Lady Rams finished the first half of the season 3-8.

Coach Betty Lynn Haggard had said before that the team had struggled with numbers, as other teams have a lot more depth on the bench than the Rams. Now the Rams have caught the injury bug, as two starters have suffered injuries that will have them away from basketball for multiple weeks.

"We are going to let it play out", says Haggard as she is "letting Jesus take the wheel, as she hopes no other players will get hurt.

Haggard is hoping to see more improvement from both teams as the season progresses into division play. Haggard stated that much larger schools were scheduled in an attempt for the Rams to be prepared for opponents closer to their strength.

After Friday's matchup against Newton, the Rams will play Sylvia Bay on Tuesday before facing Calhoun on Friday.
