KA archers finish third in MAIS 3A

The Rams showed the state their skill with the bow this week, as they finished third in the MAIS 3A State Championship Archery meet.

Lou Ann Wilson and Chris Gully were in charge of the Kemper Academy archery team this year and the Rams played well. This was the Rams first year “on tour¨, as the Archery team was started three years ago and the Rams have not been able to travel. Last year, the Rams competed in virtual meets. Wilson is ecstatic to see what is to come as many talented young archers are getting better and more experienced.

¨All I can see is great things to come”, Wilson said. With Kemper finishing third in the 3A, with a score of 2656, St. Augustine won the championship, with a score of 3178. Discovery Christian finished second with a 3048.

The Rams had won the North State Championship previously, which is still huge for the school.
