Hopson named Scooba alderman

The town of Scooba has a new alderman.
Thenesha Hopson was appointed to the position by the mayor and board. She was the only candidate to run to fill the unexpired term of Chris Collins, who resigned earlier this year.
A special election had been scheduled for Tuesday. It was cancelled after Hopson was the only candidate to qualify.
