“Hallmark” themed KA Fall Festival Set For Oct. 23

Posted

If you enjoy doing things with your family, playing games, eating food, or are a fan of Hallmark movies, Kemper Academy may just be the place for you on the evening of Saturday, Oct. 23.

KA, located at 149 Walnut Drive in DeKalb, is hosting its fall festival beginning at 4 p.m. on that Saturday. The event is open to the public.

While admission is free there will be a cost for some items, including games and food. Tickets will be sold for the individual games such as Planko, football throw, treasure hay hunt, and Coke toss — but arm bands can be purchased for $20 each.

There is also plenty of food available such as pulled pork sandwiches and goodies from Mrs Patty’s Sweet Shop.

Another highlight is a silent auction where visitors can bid on items and services. Among those things up for auction are photo sessions with three local photographers, a small girl, Yeti cooler, orca cooler, deer feed, children’s bows, jewelry, a nail therapy gift certificate, throw pillows, and other items.

There will also be a costume contest as well as a trunk or treat.

Tabby Jo Long, Vice President of the Kemper Academy PTA said the decorations will be built around a Hallmark theme and she was looking forward to seeing it displayed.

The games will be played in the playground behind the KA elementary school, while the parking lot in front of the gym will be used for hayrides and trunk or treat. There will also be a dunking booth and a bouncy house.

“We are looking for a big turnout from the community for a night of fun,” Long said, noting that the closing time for the even is listed as “until.”

“We look forward to having a ‘Wonderful Hallmark Feeling Fall Festival,’ she added. “Come out and enjoy with us.”
