Fifteen Kemper County Wildcats claim football honors

Four Kemper County High School football players were re- cently named to the MHSAA Class 2A All-State football team, while 11 others picked up re- gional honors. 

KCHS quarterback Aaron Steele was named first team quarterback and Region Player of the year for the 9-4 Wildcats, while Heaven Coleman was named to the All-State first team as a cornerback, while also taking Region Defensive MVP honors and being chosen to take part in the Bernard Black- well North/South All-Star Game on Saturday, Dec. 18 at 11:30 a.m. at Gulfport’s Milner Sta- dium. 

James Grace was named sec- ond-team All-State and first team All-Region at wide re- ceiver, while Junior Miller was named second-team All-State and first-team All-Region at run- ning back while begin selected to play in the Magnolia State All-Star Game that will be hosted by East Central Commu- nity College at Noon on Dec. 30. 

Also claiming first team All-Re- gion honors for KCHS were de- fensive tackle Jay Jackson and defensive end Devon Baskin, while defensive tackle Jakylan Bourrage, wide receiver, Jamari Scott, defensive end Kenteric Delk, and defensive back Kessler Thompson were all named send team All-Region. 

Chosen for honorable mention on the All-Region team were 

linebacker Isaiah Bourrage, line- backer Jay Russell, offensive lineman Zaus Moss, offensive lineman Jaquavious Jackson, and linebacker Exzaybrian Hick- man. 

The KCHS coaching staff took Region honors, while interim head coach Dicenzo Miller was selected as running backs coach for the South team in the Mag- nolia All-Star Game.
