EMCC announces new HoF members

SCOOBA – East Mississippi Community College will induct 10 new members into the EMCC Sports Hall of Fame on Thursday, Sept. 23, when the Lions entertain the Holmes Bulldogs at Sullivan-Windham Field on the Scooba campus.

Five new members from EMCC’s 2020 class and an additional five inductees from the 2021 class will be recognized at halftime of the EMCC-Holmes football game.  Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on Sept. 23.

The five-member Class of 2020 features: 2010 EMCC All-American and retired NFL defensive lineman Quinton Dial; current EMCC Dean of Students/Scooba campus Tony Montgomery (former Lions baseball player and coach); brothers Ike Clay (men’s basketball) and Ronald Clay (baseball); and former quarterback Greg Griffith.

EMCC’s five-member Class of 2021 includes: former EMCC women’s basketball players Martika Hull (Southeast Lauderdale HS alum), Angelique Burtts, and Yvonne [Davis] Hairston (current Columbus High School WBB coach & former MSU track athlete); along with former Lions baseball players Brad Montgomery (younger brother of fellow EMCC SHOF inductee/New Hope HS alum Tony Montgomery) and Alan Page (owner of Page Place at Dodson Farm in Starkville).
