RELAY FOR LIFE

The Kemper County Relay For Life celebration is set for Saturday from 5-8 p.m. at Keys/McRae Park in DeKalb. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chair and weir their “Derby” hat. That will good for sale and lumi­naries can be purchase that night.

REPUBLICAN PRIMARY

The Republican Party will hold a primary election on Tuesday June 7 for the District 3 Seat in the United State Congress. The Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. All registered voters are eligible to vote. Incumbent Michael Guest is being challenged by Michael Cassidy and Thomas Griffin.

PLEASANT SPRINGS PRESBYTERIAN

Pleasant Springs Presbyterian Church in Preston will have their Homecoming service on Sunday at 11 a.m.

DAIRY RECIPE CONTEST

Kemper County Extension will host a youth Dairy Recipe Contest and Fun with Diary Foods Science Explo­ration on Tuesday, June 14 at 10 a.m. at the Kemper County Extension office. This event is for youth ages 8-18. Pre-registration is required, deadline is Monday, June 6th. Call our office at 601-743-2837 for contest rules and event information.

MSU FORESTRY ASSOCIATION SUMMER MEETING

The MSU Forestry Association will have their summer meeting on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 6 p.m. at the MSU Extension Service/ Ruby Rankin Building.   1. PLEASANT AND CORINTH CHURCH HOMECOMING

Mt. Pleasant and Corinth Church of the Damascus Community will hold their annual Homecoming at Mt. Pleasant church on June 5 beginning at 11 a.m. with potluck dinner following the service. NEWTON COUNTY FARMER’S MARKET

There will be a Newton County Farmer's Market every first Friday and third Saturday from 8:00 AM – 12:00 p.m., beginning Sat Jun 18, 2022 at ESCO Park in Newton. We are currently taking vendor applications at the Newton County Extension office, 65 7th Street, Decatur, MS 39327.

BEAVER CONTROL COST-SHARE PROGRAM

Applications are now being accepted by Kemper County SWCD for the Kemper County Beaver Control Cost-Share Program. The Mississippi Soil and Water Con­servation Commission and the Kemper County Board of Supervisors have funded the program to aid non-indus­trial private landowners in beaver control.
