HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION MEETING
The Kemper County Historical Association will meet at the Museum in DeKalb on Monday, Feb.14 at 3 p.m. Election of officers will be held. Visitors and new members are welcome and encouraged to attend.
COMMUNITY EASTER EGG HUNT
There will be a community wide Easter egg hunt at Keyes-McRae Park in DeKalb from 11 a.m.-3 pm. On Saturday April 2. There will be a bounce house, prizes and a list from the Easter Bunny. Free set-up is provided for Vendors. The event is sponsored by Community First KC and Reds & Sons Detail.
EMCC OFFERS TUITION-FREE CODING CLASSES
Mississippi Coding Academies is providing tuition-free classes to students at The Communiversity at East Mississippi Community College. The deadline to submit items to run in the weekly Community Calendar that appears on the community page each week is Monday at 4 p.m. for that week’s publication. SCHOOL BOARD MEETING
The regularly scheduled meeting of the Kemper County School Board is set for Thursday, February 17 at 5:00 p.m. at the John C. Stennis Vocational Complex in DeKalb. The public is invited.
KEMPER FLEA MARKET
The flea market is held every first and third Saturday of the month from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bizzy Bee’s. There is free vendor setup. Items include food, household items, crafts and much more.
BEAVER CONTROL COST-SHARE PROGRAM
Applications are now being accepted by Kemper County SWCD for the Kemper County Beaver Control Cost-Share Program. The Mississippi Soil and Water Conservation Commission and the Kemper County Board of Supervisors have funded the program to aid non-industrial private landowners in beaver control. JRMWV PROGRAM
Junior Master Wellness Volunteer Training Recruitment going on now. We are looking for youth 14-18 years old to join us for an exciting volunteer program. The JrMWV Program is a community health education and volunteer leader training program. Youth will learn about improving health literacy and healthy lifestyle choices and will then go out into their community and become an advocate for a healthier Mississippi! Participants will be expected to give back by completing 24 hours of community service.
