Board Recognizes Teachers/Parents of the Year
At its monthly meeting held last Thursday the Kemper County School Board recognized teachers and parents of the year. Teachers of the Year are:
— Kemper County Lower Elementary - Paulette Jones
— Kemper County Upper Elementary - Theresa Savell
— Kemper County Middle School - Shana Hopkins
— Kemper County High School - Betty Casey
— John C. Stennis Vo-Tech - Thomas F. Thomas \
Parents of the Year are:
— Kemper County Lower Elementary - Ashley Boren
— Kemper County Upper Elementary -Felicia Chamberlain
— Kemper County Middle School - Genetrice Doss
— Kemper County High School - Linda Cole
— John C. Stennis Vo-Tech - Linda Cole
Thomas F. Thomas was recognized as the District Teacher of the Year, and Linda Cole as the District Parent of the Year. Rosalind Lanier was recognized as the Food Services Employee of the Year, and Melvin Rush as the Transportation Employee of the Year. These individuals will be honored with a luncheon on Jan. 28 at the John C. Stennis Vo-Tech.
Marguerite Ward, School Food Service Manager, was honored with a plaque upon her retirement.

— John C. Stennis Votech Law & Public Safety Instructor- Anthony Hull
In other action, the Board:
— Tabled evaluations of School Board Members, School Board Attorney, and
Superintendent.
— Voted 5-0 to approve payment of daily rate to non-licensed teachers.
— Voted 5-0 for approval of homebound services.
— Voted 5-0 for approval of job embedded professional development at Kemper
County Upper Elementary.
— Voted 5-0 for Improvement of Education.
— Voted 5-0 for approval for KCSD to contract with Kemper County Sheriff's Dept. for School Safety/Security.
