Memorial services for Mr. Al Thomas Jr. were held Tuesday at 11am at New Hope Methodist Church, 12286 Old Jackson Road in DeKalb. 

Mr. Thomas, 80, of DeKalb, retired from Sears after 30 years as a service technician. He was a veteran, serving his country in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Thomas was a Christian man who loved life and dearly loved his family. He enjoyed travelling to their place in Panama City Beach, FL for over thirty years, woodworking, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed anything outdoors. 

He was a member of New Hope Methodist Church. 

Survivors include his wife of 55 years Bonnie; daughter Missy Thomas; son Al Thomas III (Candy); granddaughter Sloan; sisters Susan Hutchinson and Bonnie Smith. 

He was preceded in death by parents Al and Johnnie Bell Thomas and sister Jessie Ann Vincent. 

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
