4 Wildcats chosen for Premier Prep team

Four members of the Kemper County High School football team were honored last Satur­day by inclusion on the 2021 Premier Prep foot­ball team as presented by The Meridian Star newspaper.

Running back Dicenzo Miller Jr. and quarterback Aaron Steele were named to the first team, while wide receiver Jamar Grace and Heaven Coleman were named to the second team.

Neshoba Central’s Patrick Schoolar was Coach of the Year, while West Lauderdale’s J.J. Grant was chosen Player of the Year.

Miller, who has signed to play for East Central Community College next season, rushed for 1,239 yards and scored 17 touchdowns on 127 car­ries in 2021. He also caught 18 passes for 260 yards and three scores.

Steele rushed for 1,703 yards on 219 attempts and hit on 116-of-206 passes for 1,749 yards and 15 scores. Steele will play at Hinds Community College next season.

Grace, who is also com­mitted to Hinds, was the Wildcats go to person on offense, as well as being a big weapon on special teams.

Coleman, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound defensive back, led the team with seven interceptions last season. He has signed to play for Mississippi Gulf Coast.
