The KCHS Lady Wild­cats went 2-0 this past week with wins over Nox­ubee County and Louisville, as the Wildcats lost to both teams.

The East Mississippi Community College women’s basketball team got back on track with a 59-56 home win over previously unbeaten Itawamba Community College during last Thursday’s MACCC hoops action played at EMCC’s Keyes T. Currie Coliseum.

Lions take Win over hoops power Vinceenes

VINCENNES, Ind. — The Lions of East Mississippi Community College made their mark on the NJCAA men’s basketball scene this past weekend by knocking off traditional powerhouse Vincennes University by double figures and taking nationally third-ranked John A. Logan College down to the wire in the VU-hosted McDonald’s Classic played at the Physical Education Complex on the Vincennes campus.

The Kemper County High School Lady Wildcats took a tough loss to Choctaw Central 58-20 last week.

Booster club provides special t-shirts

In honor of claiming back-to-back district championships, the Wildcats Athletic Booster Club recently provided the Kemper County High School football team with t-shirts proclaiming that special feat.

Trailing by four points late in the fourth quarter, the Kemper County High School defense came up big, giving the Wildcats a chance to rally for an 18-12 win in the second round of the MHSAA Class 3A State Football Playoffs.

Wildcats escape warriors in final seconds

The Kemper County Wildcats barely escaped the Nanih Waiya Warriors last Thursday, however the visitors showed who they were and came from behind to win 34-28, finishing the season undefeated in division.
