Wendell Scarbrough

Graveside service for Wendell Scarbrough was held Sunday, August 23, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. from Clark’s Chapel Cemetery in Kemper County with Rev. Gary Rivers officiating.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Scarbrough, 65, of Preston, died Friday, August 21, 2020.

Wendell was a longtime resident of Kemper County.  He was a logger, machinist, millwright, carpenter, pilot, and many other occupations.  Mr. Scarbrough was Baptist by faith.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Scarbrough of Preston, sons, Chris Scarbrough of Collinsville, Allen Scarbrough of Philadelphia, and Ethan Scarbrough of DeKalb;  five grandchildren; one step-grandchild; sisters, Jackie Dempsey and Kathy Dutton; brothers, Ray, Willis, Jr., and Tim Scarbrough. 

Mr. Scarbrough was preceded in death by parents, Willis, Sr., and Eloise Scarbrough.
