Kemper County Board of Supervisors awards bridge construction contract

Posted

On Monday, November 2, 2020 the Kemper County Board of Supervisors awarded a construction contract for replacement of two bridges on the Neelytown Road.  The contract was awarded to T.L. Wallace Construction, Incorporated at a bid price of slightly over $1.4 million.  The project is being funded primarily with funds from the legislature’s Emergency Road and Bridge Repair program.

The two bridges on the Neelytown Road are currently closed.  These two structures will be replaced with a longer bridge capable of carrying larger storm events.  Further, the approach roadway will be built up and paved.  It is anticipated that construction will begin in early January and be completed in the summer.
