 Both Kemper County basketball teams made it to the Class 3A state playoffs.

The Wildcats were to host Crystal Springs in a first round game Tuesday night. Kemper County entered the game with an 18-12 record.

The Wildcats made it to the finals of the Class 3A tournament last week, which was held at Southeast Lauderdale.

They opened the week with a 36-34 victory over Morton in an elimination game. Kemper County moved on and defeated host Southeast Lauderdale 57-47.

Last Friday, they dropped a 55-39 decision to Choctaw Central in the tournament finals.

The Kemper County girls came on strong in the second half of the season. They opened the region tournament with a 37-34 win over Winona. Forest then defeated the Lady Wildcats 64-27.

In the playoffs Monday night, the Lady Wildcats closed out the season with a 55-36 loss to Crystal Springs.

Kemper County finished the season with an 8-21 record.
