The Kemper County supervisors passed an order that transferred $6 million three ways into the general fund account, the road and bridge fund account and the East Mississippi Community College fund account.

These actions were taken Monday during the supervisors’ first meeting of the year.

This was money the county had set aside for different projects. Supervisors put $3,412,236 for bill payments. $2,379.097 went to the road and bridge account for various projects while $208,667 went to the EMCC account.

In other matters, supervisors voted to:

- Approve the April board minutes, the payroll, and the claims docket;

- Approve a for a new copier lease for the Chancery Clerk’s office;

- Approve an order for installation of 10 single lever faucets on the hot side for $1,340. The price includes the cost of installation;

- Approve a budget amendment in which $500 was moved from the Office Supplies and Materials and moved to Food For Jurors;

- Approve the second quarter budget appropriation for the Tax Assessor’s office and the Sheriff’s Department;

- Approve appropriating $234.13 to clear up a closed account;

- Approved a book keeping adjustment for the solid waste department;

- Authorize travel and fees for Ray Williams to attend the Mississippi Constables Association’s Convention and Training  Seminar June 3-8 in Gulfport; and,

- Authorize Terry Bostick to attend the MSCMEA Summer Seminar June 18-21 in d’Iberville.

Supervisors also approved order to observe May 27 the as Memorial Day holiday.
