ASSOCIATION

MEETING

The Kemper Historical Association will meet at the Museum on Monday at 3 pm. Bonnie Thomas will lead the program with memories of growing up in Kemper County. Come and visit, or better still, become a member this year. We meet quarterly to learn about, honor and preserve Kemper County’s heritage. Annual dues are $10 per individual, $15 per couple. Life memberships are available for $200.



BLACK HISTORY

PROGRAM SET

New Beginning UMC, 1013 Hwy 45, in Porterville will have its "Black History" program the 4th Sunday. Feb. 25, beginning at 1:30pm. There will be an "Old Soul Food" lunch served immediately after the program. Everyone is invited to attend. Rev. Charlotte Malone is the pastor. For More Information call 601-616-1210.



GOSPEL CONCERT

IN PORTERVILLE

A big gospel concert is set for Porterville Improvement Community Center on Saturday Feb. 17 at 6 p.m. Among those taking part will be Three praying deacons doing devotions from Aliceville, Ala., Craig Nave ,The anointed McDonald Sisters, Pastor Clemons and Greater Outreach Choir, Pastor Aquila Pack, Min. Marvin Brown and God’s Anointed and the Golden Bells. Admission $5. Hot fish will be sold.

FREE BOOKS FOR

CHILDREN UNDER 5

Kemper County is a participant in the Dolly Parton Imagination Library Project proving a free book mailed monthly to the child in the child’s name from birth until the child reaches the age of five. This project is sponsored by the United Way of East Mississippi and the North American Coal Company, Inc in Kemper County. To enroll your child on the website enter   www.imaginationlibrary.com and select the “PARENT” tab located at the top of the web page. Registration cards may also be picked up at the Kemper County Library or the Kemper County Economic Development Authority office during normal business hours.
